Biggleswade Baptist Church (BBC) is made up of people just like you. Office workers, teachers, engineers, nurses, managers, parents, children, teenagers and so on! We are just like everyone else in Biggleswade in that respect.
The formal church membership is about 130 people. These are people who are Christians, and have committed themselves to be actively engaged in church activities, to support the church financially and with prayer.
The church is much bigger than that though. Over the week, hundreds of people are part of the church, perhaps by attending one of the many activities that take place. As well as people with faith, lots of the people who come along are unsure about faith, have no faith or haven’t ever thought about God. You are welcome with us whatever you believe.
Our morning Sunday service starts at 10.30am and there are usually about 175 people there. Everyone is together for the first half an hour or so, then there are activities for children and young people, and there’s a crèche for the very youngest too. The style is contemporary – we don’t have an organ, but you’ll see a range of instruments. We also meet together to worship on a Sunday evening at 6pm (most Sundays), and on a Wednesday afternoon at 2.15pm. In the week we have home groups, toddler groups, youth activities, and, a little less often, we have breakfast together, social activities, quizzes, parties, walks and so on. The best way to find out what’s going on is by looking here.
Biggleswade Baptist Church is committed to providing a safe environment for children and young people, and our Safeguarding Policy is available to view here.
We are just one part of the churches together in Biggleswade and we seek to join with the other local churches in bringing to the town a living demonstration of God’s grace in Jesus.
We are part of Baptists Together
We are also a member of the Evangelical Alliance. We subscribe to the Evangelical Alliance basis of faith.
