Biggleswade Baptist Church (sometimes known as BBC) is a vibrant church in the market town of Biggleswade, Bedfordshire. We have about 130 people on the formal membership list, around 200 people attending our services on a Sunday and several hundred more attending our wide range of activities in the week.
All these people are part of the church, and they include people of all ages, people from many nations, people with a long history of attending church with an active Christian faith, through to people who rarely come on a Sunday, and have no faith at all. No matter your background, your nationality, your age, the way you dress, what you believe or anything else, you are welcome with us. In addition to our church building and office on London Road, we also have a drop-in centre on the King’s Reach development.
Each year we have a ‘Verse of the Year” from the Bible, and for 2021 this is Colossians 3v23, illustrated on the banner above.
Sunday Morning Services
During August, we will be joining together at the church building each Sunday morning, at 10:30am – there will be NO streaming of the service during August.
Weather permitting, we will start the service in the carpark, and move inside for the sermon.
A recording of each service is made available on our website shortly after each meeting.
Sunday Club has restarted ‘in the church building’; please contact Ellen for details and to book a space.
Sunday Evening Services
Following recent guidance around Covid-19, we have restarted some of our Sunday Evening ‘in-person’ meetings, but these are suspended throughout August.
Details of our Evening meetings are here
Small Groups are where people get together to make new friends, share a passion, or to ‘explore faith together.’ With the challenges of Covid-19 and social-distancing, we are pleased to be able to still offer a wide range of groups, with a new term starting in April 2021 – Please click here for more details
27th July 2021: The first part of our services during August will be ‘in the car park’, and then we will move into the building for the sermon. We will NOT be streaming the service on Facebook Live during August.
24th June 2021: The first part of our services will now be ‘in the car park’, where congregational singing is allowed, and then we will move into the building for the sermon. You must book a space, and need to bring a chair for the outside part of the service
18th April 2021: If you would like to come to a Sunday Service in church you will need to book a place. Please email email@example.com by Thursday lunchtime (or call 01767 312667) giving the names of those planning to attend. You will need to sign in and be shown to your seats. Currently you will need to wear a face covering for the whole time you are in the building and observe the necessary social distancing rules.
We have moved the majority of our meetings to an ‘online format’, using Facebook-Live and Zoom. Any sessions running ‘in-person’ are operated under Covid-safe principles, and these sessions are adapted as the guidance changes.
However, the Foodbank remains open (referrals to the usual number please, 07511 367066), and the donations will continue to be collected. We are, as a Church, aware of many who will need practical assistance and prayer over the coming weeks and months, and so invite anyone who finds themselves in difficulty to contact us on 01767 312667 and speak to a member of staff or leave a message. The phone will be checked regularly. Or you can email us on firstname.lastname@example.org, email@example.com or firstname.lastname@example.org and we will be happy to help you, or point you to someone who can.
As Christians we have the promise that God is with us, and for us, especially in the middle of times such as these, and so we want to reflect that in the way we serve you, our community of Biggleswade and beyond. Please be assured of our prayers at this time and feel free to send in specific prayer requests for our team to pray.
With every blessing
